Hi Everyone ♡ How is everyone during this globally troubling time, are you well? On top of all of the college work, preparations for university and the general busyness of life at the moment, I've found myself watch so many YouTube videos and Netflix shows! It is because of this that I thought it'd be nice to share with you some of my Top 5 recommendations for each platform!
YouTube ♡
Jolly / Korean Englishman Korean Englishman and Jolly are the perfect Korean-English combination channels and the content NEVER disappoints! Whether you want to watch Juno's ventures, Josh calling Ollie an idiot for 10 minutes straight or you want to see celebrities be interviewed in a completely unique style... THESE TWO CHANNELS ARE PERFECT FOR YOU!
ANJA Sadly, because of Coronavirus she had to return from her exchange trip to Germany, but that hasn't stopped her from being one of the funniest people I watch on YouTube. I love her natural skill at getting people to laugh and she is definitely someone to watch on the days when you just don't feel 100%
FLOW MUSIC This is a music based YouTube channel and I'm obsessed! This channel takes new songs (both KPOP and Western) and makes them into Traditional Korean Instrument covers! I'm genuinely so obsessed! (especially with the Viva La Vida cover!!) Check them out!!
Cherry & Dong I watch A LOT of Korean couple YouTube channels but Cherry & Dong are VERY high up on the list of my favourites! There's just something about their videos that gets me hooked?! I watch one and suddenly I've watched 50 - It's crazy! I love their chemistry and their videos are so funny! I'd seriously recommend checking them out!
Edward Avila I've watched so many of Edward's videos that at this point, if he hasn't uploaded one, I just go back and watch his old ones again - I never get bored of them! I'm really not that big on makeup and I never wear it, but whenever I watch Edward do his makeup there is that part of me that wants to do it to. He is also another YouTuber who is hilarious to watch and I especially love seeing him act like a crackhead around Idols, they all seem to be somewhat scared at first but by the end of the video they're being just as crack- headish!
Netflix ♡ - I watch more Korean things than English so I'll do my Korean show recommendations first and then share my English recommendations (these will be shows that are on the UK Netflix) Korean:
'Romance is a Bonus Book' Anyone who knows me will know that Lee Jong-suk is one of my favourite actors and boy, he didn't disappoint in this drama! My dream man is literally his Character in this drama (shh don't tell my boyfriend). I can't go without mentioning how funny this drama is how pretty and just generally amazing Lee Na-young is in it!
'Something in the Rain' This drama is another one of my guilty pleasures, Jung Haein being top of the list of my favourite actors. This drama was a whirlwind of emotions for me and it had me crying, laughing and awwing relentlessly. I was definitely hooked when this drama was released and I've watched it COUNTLESS times! Son Yejin also stars in this drama and it's safe to say that I was completely encaptured by her beauty and her talent! 11/10 recommend this drama.
'Crash Landing on You' There is a part of me that finds North Korea fascinating, in fact, at some point I want to go on one of the tours there (I've even been looking at study tours) so when this drama came out I was very excited! I'm a big fan of Son Yejin's dramas! This drama perfectly captured it's audience's hearts and I don't think a drama has made me feel the way this one did for a while!
'When the Camellia Blooms' When it comes to Kang Haneul, I can't help but smile. No matter his role he always pulls it off perfectly. This time, he played a somewhat free-willed police officer who can be a bit much sometimes. This drama made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me sit on the edge of my seat waiting for what would happen next. It would be a crime not to mention how amazing Gong Hyojin is in this drama! She's such an amazing actress!
'One Spring Night' Jung Haein once again stole my heart in this drama, this time taking to the screen as a devoted single father. The on-screen and off-screen chemistry between Han Jimin and Jung Haein was unbelievable and this drama had me hooked - I mean, how can I dislike a Jung Haein drama!!! This was another drama that had be laughing and crying and I even felt ANGRY at parts - I definitely recommend this to all those hopeless romantics! (I was very invested in this drama haha!)
English:
'Glee' Okay, I'm sure at some point or another, whether it was intentional or not, we've all either heard the glee version of a song or binged the show... I'm guilty of binging the show constantly - the Kurt and Blaine storylines had me hooked. A lot of my friends know that if I don't like a song, I probably have just listened to the glee version enough to prefer it! I wouldn't say that this show is the best but it's pretty entertaining!
'Sex Education' I'm fairly certain that everyone (minus my boyfriend who for some reason blatantly refuses to watch it) has already watched Sex Education and I totally get why! It's really funny - and honestly I have the biggest girl crush on Maive hehe... The show touches on some really important topics and I think that it's a fantastic show so if (for some reason) you haven't already, go watch it!!
'The Umbrella Academy' I'm eagerly waiting for season 2! The first season was literally amazing! I am in love with this show and it is very much my style of show. I can't choose a favourite character but either Klaus (like the basic girl I am) or Five are probably my favourite! I urge you to watch this show - you won't regret it! It's perfect if you like science-fiction-y drama shows!
'The Vampire Diaries' I will be the first to admit that I MOST DEFINITELY was a bit too obsessed with this show when I first watched it. I was quite young and had pretty much only just slipped out of the Twilight phase of my life so having another vampire fiction to leech onto was just a disaster waiting to happen. To this day, I love this drama! The storylines were amazing, and I cried a lot watching it as I was very emotionally invested. I blame Damon Salvatore for the countless sleepless nights which were the product of binging this show! I'd give it a watch!
Last but not least, 'Sherlock Holmes'
I'm British so it is only to be expected that this show would appear on this list - and honestly... I can't get enough of this show. I've watched the episodes countless times and I've read the books countless times, in fact I created a really strong bond with my English teacher in secondary school thanks to this show. I'm definitely guilty of loving the chemistry between Sherlock and Watson!
I hope that you guys liked this post and that you go ahead and check some of these shows out! Remember to keep yourselves safe! Until Next Time,
Reagie ♡♡♡
